IA-Foundation is a UK and Nigerian registered educational charity set up to transform lives through education in Nigeria and Africa.
IA-Foundation was founded on the 30th of January 2019 by Ibironke Adeagbo, a renowned chartered accountant to celebrate her 50th birthday, because she has a passion for education and removing any barrier that could prevent a child from accessing good education. Ibironke is an accounting graduate and has three accountancy qualifications herself. She has risen to the top of her profession and career. However, when she told her father she wanted to study accountancy, her father was apprehensive and said it was too difficult a course for a woman and it was a man’s profession. Ibironke was absolutely determined to prove her father wrong. Now that she has realized her potential, she wants to put a torch in the path of others to lighten their pathways too and remove any barrier that could prevent them from achieving their potential and aspirations. She believes education drives the economy and educational institutions are the engine room where this happens. Therefore, she believes everyone must have access to good education. She believes if anyone develops a passion for learning, such a person will not cease to grow. Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself. An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.

WHO WE ARE
Ibironke Adeagbo Foundation is a Nigerian and UK-registered charity that is working to reduce the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria. In alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 which seeks to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all, IA-Foundation has continued to increase access to formal education for children from indigent backgrounds in low-income communities, orphans, physically challenged children and the girl-child across Nigeria.
IA-Foundation is driven by the underlying philosophy that education can be used as a tool to curb various social issues confronting Nigeria and other developing countries. As an organization, we are committed to our mission to remove barriers to accessing quality education including financial and non-financial impediments. Our goal is to enable, empower, equip, and enhance people’s lives through strategic exposure to quality education.
The Foundation was established on January 30th, 2019, by Mrs. Ibironke Adeagbo, a chartered account and passionate education advocate who had insights into the impending threats to the future of Nigeria, and the African continent at large if the number of out-of-school kept increasing, with no urgent and strategic efforts to curb it. The activities and programmes of the Foundation are developed around key thematic areas as shown in the diagram below.
“I am proud to work at IA-Foundation as the Programme Support Officer to support the Foundation in reducing the number of out of school children in the country and thereby given the opportunity to experience working in the real world of work and apply the knowledge gained. IA-Foundation is a supportive NGO that gives room for training and development and a positive atmosphere amongst a group of individuals that work towards a common goal.”
